目前較為流傳的版本因針對兒童心理而修改過，將狼吃豬，豬吃狼的情節修改掉，變成三弟最後保護了大哥和二哥，並用巧計趕走大野狼。

Finally, the wolf threatens to come down the chimney, whereupon the third little pig boils a pot of water into which the wolf plunges. The little pig cooks the wolf and eats him.
